The internet has not changed for over 60 years, and Dr. Jenkins says that this a problem. While most people have grown up on the TimeSlot system, Dr. Jenkins urges people to remember the fact that things have not always been this way. He said "This might seem like second nature, but people do not need to live like this. We are advanced enough that we could come up with a better system that would provide much faster internet access if only the system allowed for privatization. Allowing this would increase competition and would help the entire system advance more in the next few years than it has changed since the 1980s."
